Snowstorm
2023
A study on how a simple reproducing pattern can take a simple material into uncontrollable levels of complexity.
Repetition
2022
A study on the emergence of difference as intrinsic to repetitions through their continuity.
Measures of Local Confidence
2025
Proteins are the beams and rafters of the cell; the enzymes that release energy reserves; the circuits that power movement and thought; the hormones that course through our veins. They acquire their function by folding linear sequences into three-dimensional complexes, reacting dynamically with their environment to regenerate, heal, and adapt. Yet some - intrinsically disordered proteins, resist stable form, shifting and jittering to perform complex functions in delicate articulations.
Such proteins are by definition impossible to faithfully predict and model, their structures perpetually in flux. Low-confidence fold predictions from state-of-the-art AI models are re-imagined as 3D solids with tangible material properties, then imaged using silver staining, the oldest protein-detection method in molecular biology dating to the 1800s. The result is a meditation on the gothic beauty and failure of our rigid architectures of thought to emulate the restless vitality of matter.

Geodesic Flow
2023
Geodesic curves represent the minimal energy path between points on a surface. Their trajectories stretch between local configurations of space with possibly wildly different configurations, creating a connection between them in the most economic way. Geodesic flow is the movement along these curves, the evolution or development of a process, fundamentally and perpetually changing, but doing so in the most conservational fashion.
This work explores and manifestations of such movement in biological and physical phenomena, offering an exit strategy from our pretended singularity and objectivity by recognizing our multiplicities.
